Story 04 – Story Lab Spring 2025

Description

Story Lab Join Pixar Sparkshort Director, Louis Gonzales in Story Lab. If you want help on a story you are working on or have an idea you want to storyboard, Story Lab is for you.

Story Lab with Louis Gonzales will focus on an existing story that the student brings to develop and hone, or the student will develop and execute a new short story.

Depending on the student, they will work on 1 story, or up to 3 stories for the 10 week period. The focus of the course is on understanding story structure and portfolio development, and the emphasis depends on the ability of the student.

With Regards to the curriculum: This is not a beginners class with a set curriculum. The student brings the stories that they want to board or have boarded already and want to develop the scene(s) further.  The Instructor will bring ideas to think about each week. This depends on work load. The goal is to create the professional atmosphere of a studio story team with a healthy interest in the craft of storyboarding.  Discussion and participation are the cornerstones of this workshop.

We will discuss concepts I’ve learned in my 15 years of story boarding such as, mind mapping and exploring the truth in moments that will keep your audience locked in. Then we will circle back and talk with the group.

There are only 6 spots for this workshop
